Theatre Aquarius presents a double-bill of one-act plays in its Stagewrite Series this January. In the intimate setting of its Studio Theatre, Theatre Aquarius offers the chance to see two well-matched, passionate plays in a single night: Laughton Common and Chaplin: about Face.
“It is a pleasure to have Scott Hurst and Jason Allin on our stage. And, it is a double pleasure when they are presenting the stories of these truly great masters of theatre!” says Theatre Aquarius Artistic Director Ron Ulrich
Laughton Common tells the tale of masterful actor, teacher and director, Charles Laughton. Scott A. Hurst brings him to life in this one-man, tour-de-force which he also wrote.
Chaplin: About Face, written by and starring Jason Allin as Charlie Chaplin, explores the familiar and the unfamiliar Chaplin, his life, and his rise from rags to riches rapid climb from obscurity to superstar.
“A double whammy… Two one-act plays celebrate the lives of two great stars, Sir Charles Laughton and Charles Chaplin. Laughton Common by Scott A. Hurst and Chaplin: About Face by Jason Allin offer penetrating looks at two passionate personalities.”
